I wrote this book for an elementary school competition called the Young Authors contest back in 1982 when I was 10 years old. My father kept a secret “file” on his kids, which he released to each of his kid's prospective spouse during the rehearsal dinner. When he presented my file to my wife, I was happy to see it included the original typewriter-written copy of “The Raven”.The spelling is terrible (I corrected it). The grammar is atrocious (not corrected). The plot is a condensed rip-off of several Bond movies. However, the other night I read it to my 5 year old son and he thought the story was pretty cool. As I read the story him, I caught glimpses of my 10 year old imagination. I can see that same imagination in my son. The abrupt ending foreshadows an academic career full of procrastination and doing just enough to complete the assignment. Read more
